Join us for a screening of Palestinian experimental short films from the 8th Biennale /si:n/ Festival of Video Art and Performance that took place in Ramallah Palestine during October 2024.

“In its 8th edition, The /S:in/ Festival of Video Art and Performance remains committed to its mission of confronting silence: a platform for video art and performance to convey and amplify people’s voices. Inspired by Mahmoud Darwish’s poem “In Praise of the High Shadow,” written in 1982 during the siege of Beirut and after the Sabra and Shatila massacres, the festival refuses to abandon the land that it was born into. Hence, artistic production  continues, despite the ongoing, bloody war on Gaza. The festival reflects the Palestinian people’s steadfastness, and the creative endeavours, a form of resistance against the Israeli war machine.” From Quattan Foundation Website

A total of 8 short films from the following filmmakers: Ramz Slam, Manal Mahamid, Dina Mimi, Mohamed Herb. Bushra Barghouthi, Bashar Alhroub, Shereen Abed Alkareem, Eslam Muheisen.

The screening will be introduced by Bay Area based filmmaker Caitlin Manning, followed by short interviews filmed during her visit to the West Bank in the summer of 2024.
