We'll be reading Chicano Movement for Beginners by Maceo Montoya, an illustrated nonfiction book on the history of the Chicano civil rights movement, or "El Movimiento," of the 1960s and 1970s. It's a great starting point for anyone new to Chicano movement history or looking for a welcoming community space to study this important and ongoing movement for social justice.
