El común: Nuestra Lucha es por la Vida

Art Exhibition: 3rd Annual Enero Zapatista Bay Area

January 16 - February 28 Thu & Fri 12 pm - 5 pm

(or by appointment: roberto@eastsideartsalliance.org)

Eastside Arts Alliance + Cultural Center

2277 International Blvd, Oakland

This exhibition is inspired by the Zapatista’s proposition of “El Comun” - “The Commons”- where the sky, the earth, the water, our bodies and our autonomy are not for sale! In the commons our work is collective, to care for the land, each other and organize towards an end to extraction and exploitation. Together building a world where life thrives. In the spirit of solidarity and shared struggles across borders, photographs from the exhibition Miradas desde la digniad, organized by Nodo Derechos de Humanos in Mexico will be on display.

Enero Zapatista Bay Area is a month-long series of events on Ohlone territory ( San Francisco Bay Area) commemorating the Zapatistas’ January 1, 1994 uprising. For more information about Enero Zapatista Bay Area please follow @enerozapatista.bayarea on instagram.
